What You Need To Know About "Diabetes Coaching"

I don’t know where to start. There’s so much information. I’ve been trying, but I can’t seem to figure this out. I’ll never get this right.

Whether you’ve had diabetes for a month or a few decades, you might have said or thought some of these statements. As you know, managing type 1 diabetes requires patience, trial and error, and continual treatment.

You Do Not Need to Do This Alone

It’s easy to feel alone as you deal with your diabetes day after day. While your family and friends may support you, it can be tough if you have no one in your life that experiences diabetes as well. The good news is that there is no need to navigate diabetes on your own!

Learn From Others

As a starting point, you can engage with the T1D community locally or online as a means of support and a chance to learn from other people’s experiences and perspectives. Additionally, you can peruse countless books and articles online in order to learn more about the nuances of this condition.

These are worthwhile ways to take your diabetes management more seriously. There is also an even more advanced course of action at your disposal, which is to work directly with a diabetes coach!

Benefits of a Coach

  • A coach is an expert.

  • A coach helps you achieve your goals faster than you could on your own.

  • A coach holds you accountable.

  • A coach pushes you to be the best version of yourself.

FTF Warrior

At FTF Warrior, Matt Vande Vegte offers coaching programs for diabetics, teaching people how to take control of their life with diabetes. Not only is he a certified personal trainer and nutritionist, but he also has spent years working to document, identify trends, and experiment with diet and exercise in his own life as a type one diabetic. His mission is to teach diabetics how to achieve stable, predictable blood sugars in order to lead a healthy and spontaneous life.

Diabetes in Action

Diabetes in Action is FTF Warrior’s high level coaching program. Participants work through recorded lessons covering major topics such as insulin, exercise, and nutrition.

They focus on one piece at a time, first observing trends and patterns, then making micro adjustments to discover their unique blood sugar formula.

On live, remote group coaching calls twice a week for the duration of the eight week program, Matt addresses the needs and questions of every participant. Not only do participants learn from an experienced coach, but they also benefit from the questions and observations of other people in the calls.

Personal Responsibility

A diabetes coach is incredibly supportive. Ultimately, though, you must show up and do the work. If you do not meet each other halfway, then you will not reap amazing benefits. A coach like Matt Vande Vegte will provide you with countless tools to begin exploring your diabetes management in a new light. You must put in the work on your own, but the template and support given to you is invaluable!

Hesitations?

Imagine what your life would look like if diabetes ran more on auto pilot so you could have more time and energy to pursue what matters to you most. A diabetes coach will help guide you to a life of freedom and predictability with your diabetes. The initial investment of time and money may seem daunting, but when you consider the amazing progress you will make, having a diabetics coach is unparalleled.
